About a year ago I went on a missions trip to Ghana with a team of university students. When I would ask someone in Ghana, “How are you?” in the local language twi. A typical answer was “Nyame adom meh ho yeh.”-Meaning “By the grace of God, I am fine.” I think those words sum up the people of Ghana very well. The whole time there I was struck by their ability to recognize the grace of God in their lives. Their ability to recognize His amazing grace allowed them to walk in thanksgiving, generosity, and most notably joy! Even though the economic situation in Ghana is not ideal the Ghanaians’ appreciation for each other and the blessings in their lives whether big or small was inspiring. The kids and people have taught me so much and started so much spiritual growth in me that I can only hope that I get the chance to go back again!
